is the creator of Survivalize.com. Currently he works as a programmer for a large trade magazine and works on Survivalize on the side. Growing up and living through the Y2K scare and the September 11th terrorist attacks taught him the value of being prepared. Even though nothing major happened with Y2K, preparing with his family for that event taught him valuable skills. Through high school and college he moved away from the survival lifestyle until the crash of 2008 and the arab spring rekindled his desire to be prepared for anything and teach others to do the same.
has been prepping since 2010, and blogging about survival topics since 2011. He specializes in writing about military surplus, and its applications to preparedness. Jarrod attempts to bring survival to the common man’s level. Not a guru himself by any means, he brings his audience along with him on a preparedness journey. More of his writings can be found at his home blog www.desertsurvivalist.wordpress.com.
